Sterilization Gas

The highly toxic and flammable Ethylene oxide (EtO) is used in its pure form and in a blended form for cold sterilization of surgery equipment, food, medical textiles and medical supplies.

ETO can kill all known viruses, bacteria and fungi, including bacterial spores. However, it is highly flammable, toxic and carcinogenic. The carcinogenicity of ETO may be influenced by the nature (e.g. skin contact, inhalation or ingestion), duration and level of exposure. Ethylene oxide exposure is associated mainly with an increased risk of developing leukemia

The Sterility Assurance Level [SAL] for EO sterilizers is 10-6. This means that after sterilization, there is a one in a million chance that a live microbe is in the sterilized load. EO sterilizers are validated using an "overkill" procedure. Sterilizer manufacturers measure how long it takes to reach an SAL of 10-6, and then we expose the load for twice

Features:

  1. Uses mixed ethylene oxide gas, protecting the equipment from exposure and flammability for safety and dependability
  2. Non-corrosive to sterilizing load, no pollution to the environment
  3. Good energy saving and short heating time
  4. Effective sterilization, easy operation
  5. Can combine temperature, pressure, sterilization time, residual gas drain time factors based on users' requirements
  6. Can be directly applied in clinical operation 6 hours after residual gas treatment, which shortens the drain time of residual gas

Applications:

  1. Medical supplies: operational instruments, injectors, transfusion systems, tubes, contraceptive equipment
  2. Medical appliances: endoscopes, heart pacemakers, artificial hearts, dialyzers,
  3. suction apparatuses
  4. Sanitation articles: feminine sanitary napkins, disposable tableware
  5. Medicine: traditional Chinese medicine, Western medicine, cosmetics
  6. Textile and biological products: cotton, woolen and chemical fiber garments,
  7. leather, blankets, brushes
  8. Instruments and meters: electronic instruments, optical instruments,
  9. telephones
  10. Other: money bills, records, letters, valuable historic relics, thin silk and Satin products, animal specimens
